faangapply ("we", "our", or "us") operates the faangapply.io website and Telegram bot. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account Data: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials (managed by our authentication provider).
  • Profile and Resume Data: If you build a profile, we store the information you provide — including uploaded CV files (PDF), work history, education, skills, links, and any screening answers you save. Providing work-authorization or voluntary self-identification (EEO) information is entirely optional.
  • Application Tracking Data: Jobs you save or track, application stages, notes, reminders, and referral details you enter.
  • Telegram User Data: When you use our Telegram bot, we receive your Telegram user ID, username, and first name to provide personalized job alerts.
  • Filter Preferences: Your job filter preferences (companies, locations, seniority levels, salary) are stored to deliver relevant job notifications.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Send you job alerts matching your filter preferences
  • Calculate match scores between your profile and job postings
  • Fill and submit job applications — only when you explicitly initiate it
  • Track your applications and send follow-up reminders you set
  • Notify you about service updates and new features
  • Improve our services and user experience
  • Communicate with you about your account

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted database provider. Uploaded files (CVs, application receipts) live in private storage buckets where access is enforced per-user — only your authenticated account can read your files. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

5. AI Processing

Some features are powered by third-party AI models accessed through OpenRouter, a gateway that routes requests to model providers such as Google or Anthropic. When you use them, we send only the data needed for that feature — your CV when you ask us to parse it, or your profile and a job description when you request a match analysis. This data is processed under the provider's API terms to deliver the feature and is never sold. The AI is instructed to never invent facts about you: anything it cannot answer from your profile is returned to you to answer yourself.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers who assist in operating our services (e.g., hosting, database, AI providers as described above)
  • When required by law or to protect our rights
  • With your explicit consent

7. Payments

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers; Stripe acts as an independent data controller for payment data under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). We store your subscription status, billing interval, period end date, and Stripe's customer and subscription identifiers for your account; billing country and your checkout consent are collected and held by Stripe.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Disable notifications via the Telegram bot at any time

9. Cookies & Analytics

Our website uses essential cookies for authentication and functionality. We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics that do not track you across sites; we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
