We're looking for an experienced engineer to join a high impact high visibility team on the Amazon website. This is an opportunity to work with a team that drives one of the most coveted real estate in the E-commerce, the Amazon ‘Buy Box’ on Amazon Product Detail Page, Amazon Search Page, multiple buying widgets etc. on the Amazon desktop, mobile and tablet environments.
The Featured Merchant Algorithm (FMA) team's vision is to simplify Amazon shopping experience by helping customers more easily discover and evaluate product offers to find the right option for their shopping journey. We use ML and contextual information to rank and feature the most relevant offers to customers. Our services serve hundreds of millions of Amazon customers and handle millions of requests per second for hundreds of millions of products and billions of offers.
You will spend your time as a hands-on engineer and a technical leader and play a key role in building software products and features from the ground up. Your responsibilities include all aspects of software development. You will lead the design, implementation, and delivery of software in a complex problem space. You will collaborate with Senior and Principal engineers to solve ambiguous problems and evolve the architecture of our products. You will mentor junior engineers and deliver through them. You will work with teams that use ML to recommend product offers and you will have the opportunity to influence their vision and technical strategies. - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
