One of tech's least standardized loops: you interview for a specific team, and every stage belongs to it. Recruiter/hiring-manager screen, one to three 45–60 minute Coderpad coding screens, a system design round shaped by Apple's reliability and privacy constraints, and a behavioral round — then a panel debrief. There is no central question bank; questions map to the team's real stack.

Summary
Do you have a passion for invention and self-challenge? As part of our Battery Engineering group, craft creative battery solutions that deliver more energy in smaller spaces than ever before. We work across disciplines to transform improved hardware elements into a single, integrated design. Join us, and you’ll help us innovate new battery technologies that continually outperform the previous iterations. By collaborating with other product development groups across Apple, you’ll push the industry boundaries of what batteries can do and improve the product experience for our customers across the world!Description
In this role, you will utilize your electronics design skills to design, develop and test battery monitoring units and Battery management units (BMU) for next generation consumer electronic products. Responsibilities include designing electronic circuits, producing detailed design analysis, selecting electronic parts and integrated circuits to meet the performance targets. You will work with suppliers to develop custom parts where needed and design test methodologies to verify the battery management unit design!Key Responsibilities
Design BMU from concept to mass production focusing on detailed board level design Push the boundaries of technologies to maximize performance and minimize volume Collaborate with multi-functional partners (Product Design, System EE, Cell Engineering, Firmware, Algorithms, etc.) to ensure the product is developed on time and on budget Conduct investigations and prepare reports for problems or issues Develop Schematics and BOMs to satisfy the design requirements Develop layout guidelines for PCBs and guides Layout Engineers to meet all physical and electrical requirements of BMU Specify custom parts and PCBs for use in BMUs Analyze the design with simulation tools and calculations to verify its conformance to the requirements. (PSPICE, ANSYS, Verilog or equivalent) Conduct design validation on prototypes to implement the design Conduct design reviews, incorporate team feedback and release the design documents for builds Specify production test plans and limits and work with CM partners to realize designMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or relevant field of study Experience in analog and/or power electronics design Experience in electronic circuit design/development with mixed signal systems or relevant Experience in any of the following: Power Electronics, Battery Management (fuel gauge and charger), Portable Consumer Electronics, Medical Electronics, Automotive Electronics)Preferred Qualifications
Master's in Electrical Engineering or relevant field of study and 10+ years relevant industry experience Experience with high volume manufacturing Knowledge of one or more scripting (Python, Shell, Unix, MATLAB, etc.) for test automation and data analysis desired Understanding of the silicon manufacturing process and how semiconductor devices and associated parasitic sub circuits are created is preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience presenting data to cross-functional teams and/or management Detail oriented and strive for product excellenceMore engineering roles at Apple
