About interviewing at Apple

One of tech's least standardized loops: you interview for a specific team, and every stage belongs to it. Recruiter/hiring-manager screen, one to three 45–60 minute Coderpad coding screens, a system design round shaped by Apple's reliability and privacy constraints, and a behavioral round — then a panel debrief. There is no central question bank; questions map to the team's real stack.

Description

Summary

At Apple, we work every day to create products that enrich people's lives. Our Advertising Platforms group makes it possible for developers of all sizes, from independent app studios to large global brands, to grow their businesses through Apple Ads. We believe that when advertising is done right, it benefits everyone: users discover apps they love, developers build sustainable businesses, and Apple advances its mission while protecting user privacy. The Ads Engineering Project Management team is looking for a senior Engineering Program Manager to lead complex technical programs across the Ads Client Engineering organization. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, architecture, and program execution, partnering across teams to deliver high-quality client experiences across Apple platforms while upholding Apple's standards for privacy, security, and user experience.

Description

You will own programs spanning Ads Client Engineering and its cross-functional partners, developing a strong understanding of iOS ad client architectures, SDKs, and ad-serving systems to effectively drive execution.. You will work closely with engineers and architects throughout the software development lifecycle, helping teams navigate technical dependencies, tradeoffs, risks, and iOS release requirements. This role requires someone who can operate independently in ambiguity, communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior leaders, and bring structure to complex adtech initiatives involving multiple engineering organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end delivery of complex Client Engineering programs from technical definition through iOS release. Translate product and technical requirements into clear execution plans, milestones, dependencies, and measurable outcomes. Lead iOS release readiness across the Client Engineering portfolio, coordinating cross-program dependencies and driving resolution before they impact schedule or quality. Identify cross-system dependencies and technical risks early, driving teams toward resolution before they impact delivery. Partner with engineers and architects to understand system design, technical tradeoffs, and implications for program strategy. Communicate priorities, decisions, risks, and outcomes clearly across technical teams, cross-functional partners, and senior leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years leading complex technical programs or software initiatives across multiple engineering teams. Domain experience in digital advertising, ad technology, mobile monetization, or ad-serving platforms. Background in client-side / on-device software engineering, specifically iOS, mobile SDKs, or client frameworks. Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, system architecture, and technical dependencies. Ability to engage credibly with engineers and architects on technical decisions and tradeoffs. Track record of independently driving ambiguous, cross-functional programs to measurable outcomes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical teams and senior leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with client-side or on-device software, including iOS, Android, mobile platforms, SDKs, or frameworks. Knowledge of large-scale consumer software and complex release environments. Background in digital advertising, monetization, or adjacent consumer technology platforms. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related field, or equivalent professional background.
