About interviewing at Apple

One of tech's least standardized loops: you interview for a specific team, and every stage belongs to it. Recruiter/hiring-manager screen, one to three 45–60 minute Coderpad coding screens, a system design round shaped by Apple's reliability and privacy constraints, and a behavioral round — then a panel debrief. There is no central question bank; questions map to the team's real stack.

Description

Summary

Here at Apple, we believe that the right blend of hardware, software, and curated experiences can transform a house into a home that serves and entertains its residents. This is your opportunity to join Apple’s Home Hardware group and help build the future! We’re seeking a highly motivated cross-functional leader with a passion for turning strategic vision into company-wide planning and action. You’ll help shape strategy across platform, product, services, ecosystem, and end-to-end compute infrastructure.

Description

In this role, you will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team to plan, develop, and integrate system strategy for the future platform of Apple products and services in the Home domain. The Home Platform System Integrator is responsible for driving cross-company technical convergence spanning Hardware Technologies, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Center Infrastructure, Services, and Product Marketing. You will own the definition and communication of strategy, set and deliver against key milestones and commitments, evaluate and converge technical trade-offs, and influence cross-team leadership to guide hardware and software platform direction. Success in this role requires the ability to translate broad strategic vision into action, strong product intuition, a systems-level mindset, and a lead-from-the-front approach to cross-functional strategic and technical alignment. We’re looking for someone who can dive into the details, yet consistently elevate conversations to keep decisions anchored to user experience and product vision. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who thrives in ambiguity, brings clarity through structured and creative thinking, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. They communicate with empathy and precision, tailoring messages to resonate across audiences and disciplines. A strong sense of ownership, a product-first mentality, and a collaborative spirit are essential, as is the ability to orchestrate direction across a broad set of partners from many disciplines. You should be someone who can identify opportunities others may miss, form compelling ideas, and drive them into action, whether that means working through technical trade-offs, building cross-functional consensus, or shaping the future direction of the product.

Key Responsibilities

Drive the organization of strategic Home platform initiatives through consistent documentation, cross-team messaging, and leadership commitment Collaborate and facilitate communication across hardware engineering, software engineering, data center infrastructure, and services teams to build strategic alignment Understand technical issues, complex system architecture, and capability trade-offs, and drive them to closure by bringing together key stakeholders and facilitating decision-making to meet overall project objectives Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and facilitate conflict resolution within and between teams, keeping the focus on top-level objectives and the best course of action Maintain a broad view of dependencies and how development timelines come together across hardware, software, data center infrastructure, and services Provide timely issue resolution and critical path management as priorities shift Deliver status at multiple levels, from individual contributors to executive leadership

Minimum Qualifications

BS in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience 15+ years of experience leading multi-disciplinary program development Strong program background spanning hardware, software, and infrastructure technologies Experience delivering consumer hardware and software products Working knowledge of system architecture spanning device hardware, software platforms, and cloud/data center infrastructure Familiarity with platform-level trade-offs such as on-device vs. cloud compute, system performance, and connectivity Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with data center, cloud, or ML compute infrastructure and its connection to on-device experiences Proven ability to influence senior and executive leadership without direct authority Experience with smart home, connected device, or ecosystem-level products and services Ability to distill complex technical and strategic topics into clear narratives for different audiences
