About interviewing at Bloomberg

Three to five stages over four to seven weeks: a recruiter screen where a generic 'Why Bloomberg?' is an early exit, one or two HackerRank CodePair phone screens on LeetCode-medium DSA, then a ~4-hour virtual onsite of two harder coding rounds (graphs, trees, DP — you explain correctness without running code), a practical finance-flavored system design round for mid/senior roles, a hiring-manager deep-dive on past technical decisions, and a short HR close. Teams run their own processes (some add a PR-style code-review round; some skip design), and you can interview with multiple teams.

Description

About the Team

Bloomberg’s CTO Office is the future-looking technical and product arm of Bloomberg L.P. We envision, design, and prototype the next generation of infrastructure, hardware, and applications that power the Bloomberg Terminal and beyond. Our work spans AI platforms, cloud infrastructure, open-source stewardship, and generative AI innovation.

For over a decade, Bloomberg has been at the forefront of applying Artificial Intelligence, ML, and NLP to financial intelligence, powering products in sentiment analysis, classification, document understanding, recommendation, and generative AI. Critical to this effort are our AI platforms, which enable teams to rapidly and robustly build, deploy, evaluate, govern, and operate AI systems at scale.

What’s In It For You

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to define and execute the strategy for internal AI Platforms Experiences & Integrations, ensuring cross-functional product teams consisting of humans, and agents can seamlessly discover, compose, govern, evaluate, and operate AI capabilities.

As AI systems evolve from traditional APIs toward agentic and collaborative workflows, you will help define how product teams interact with AI platforms through next-generation interfaces, including agent-driven experiences, copilots, workflow orchestration surfaces, and interoperable AI ecosystems. You will partner closely with UX and AI Platform engineering teams to ensure Bloomberg both adopts and enables emerging interaction paradigms while maintaining enterprise-grade governance, trust, and usability.

Why This Matters

AI platforms succeed only when their users can easily discover, understand, compose, and operate their capabilities. As AI systems evolve from traditional APIs to agents, tools, and multi-agent workflows, the experience layer becomes just as important as the infrastructure beneath it. This role is responsible for shaping the surfaces that connect Bloomberg's AI platforms with the product teams building AI-powered applications.

We’ll trust you to

  • Define and drive the vision for the AI Platform experience layer, including surfaces that power how product teams build, discover, and operate AI systems

  • Treat our experience layer as a platform, shaping reusable, scalable primitives that enable consistent workflows across tools, agents, datasets, and evaluation systems

  • Partner closely with UX, Design, and Interaction (IX) teams to co-own the roadmap, backlog, and execution of AI platform experiences, with reusable experience patterns and design principles that can be adopted consistently across AI Platform products

  • Drive the integration strategy across AI platform verticals into a unified, intuitive user experience

  • Champion a user-centric product approach across platform teams, elevating the importance of usability, clarity, and user productivity

  • Prioritize and execute cross-functional initiatives that cut across UX, Engineering, and Product, especially where ownership is shared or ambiguous

  • Work hand-in-hand with UI Engineering to drive the experience backlog, ensuring alignment between platform capabilities and front-end implementation

  • Continuously evolve the platform experience strategy as agentic systems grow in complexity, ensuring our UX keeps pace with underlying infrastructure

You’ll Need to Have

  • 5+ years of experience in technical product management, ideally within AI, platform, developer tooling, or infrastructure domains

  • Experience working with AI, GenAI, agentic systems and emerging AI interaction patterns

  • Familiarity with emerging agentic protocols (MCP, A2A), interoperability patterns, and agentic UI stacks, such as A2UI, AG-UI, MCP-UI

  • Experience shaping design systems or UX frameworks for complex products

  • Strong understanding of developer workflows and platform usability challenges

  • Experience driving cross-functional initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, research, and platform teams to deliver impactful platform capabilities

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate a technical vision and influence across diverse teams

We’d Love to See

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Experience with LLMs, generative AI, agent frameworks, and orchestration systems

  • Contributions to open source or developer ecosystems

Why Join Us

You will play a pivotal role in shaping Bloomberg’s AI future by building the platform that enables product teams across all AI initiatives. This is an opportunity to help define the experience at enterprise scale. You will work alongside world-class engineers, UX designers, researchers, and product leaders while helping establish the reusable experiences, standards, and workflows that power Bloomberg's next generation of Generative and Agentic AI innovation.

If indicated, please note that years of experience are a guide; we will consider applications from all candidates who can demonstrate the skills necessary for the role.
